The 5th Age of Fiction album since 2021, Snail Overlords is a look at the monsters among and within us. Filled with richly crafted music, stunning composition and visual artwork, Snail Overlords has raised the bar and invited you to take a drink of metaphor and grit.

Bryan and Holly Csiga are a husband and wife duo originally from Alaska. "Csiga," an old Hungarian name meaning snail, was an early name for the band in 2010 who later changed their name to Age of Fiction. After being expelled with their two children from Seattle during the rise of wealth, greed and en masse destruction of the trades when fair wages for workers disintegrated, they went from working and performing regularly in the city for two decades to living in the forests of the Cascade foothills. There they began living off the land as much as possible, drawing on their own loss to create even more music. While they struggle to find ways to access work and food, they raise and homeschool their two children, farm their modest land, and create their larger than life music. Much heart went into this album which seeks to name, process and resolve monsters within and without us all that act upon the world in these untenable times. Since 2021, Age of Fiction has co produced 5 albums with the help of Raymond P. Bollen of Hairy Nipple Productions, a co-conspirator in experimental rock music from their underground Seattle scene. Snail Overlords is a darkly satirical, heartfelt, creative reaction to the destruction of our world and it's life support systems by two parents caught in the fray.

"When both me and the band finally got together to record again, of course I was very excited. Being I had heard most of the tracks early in their birth. This time I traveled better prepared. Separate inputs for each keyboard send. Isolated vocal. 18 direct or close contact mics. We did 2 days of recording. 2 takes of each or song +/-. I knew I captured GOLD. Got home and this album practically mixed itself. No reverb used anywhere. I was scared to touch it in fear of...I don't know. In short. THIS HAS BEEN THE BEST RECORDING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!! "The songs from Snail Overlords are mostly new. If we had not the opportunity to archive The Mayday Sessions in 2021 which spanned 29 tracks and produced 4 albums worth of rock, we might not have had the brain space to write these masterpeices. Th entire album was written between 2023 and 2023. The only exception is the song Birds of Prey which was begun in 2013 as a scene transition for the Rock musical Persephone performed in Seattle at what used to be Live Girls Theatre, a great all women cabaret stuffed beneath the sidewalk of Market Street where I performed my solo electric rock act Holly Wyrd. It stuck in my head forever and only after the Mayday Sessions were completed did I find the rest of the song. These 9 Monster songs were both good and evil and came quickly but we spent good time perfecting them. We live the motto of playing to the edge of our ability to learn, grow and live strong. I hope others feel half of what channels me in these tracks. Songs used to come from the ether, and now quite often they come from improvising with Bryan, which brought you Loudmouth, Black Chair and many others on this album and albums yet to come.
